But those who believed (in the Oneness of Allâh – Islâmic Monotheism), and worked righteousness – We tax not any person beyond his scope, such are the dwellers of Paradise. They will abide therein. And We shall remove from their breasts any (mutual) hatred or sense of injury (which they had, if at all, in the life of this world); rivers flowing under them, and they will say: “All the praises and thanks be to Allâh, Who has guided us to this, never could we have found guidance, were it not that Allâh had guided us! Indeed, the Messengers of our Lord did come with the truth.” And it will be cried out to them: “This is the Paradise which you have inherited for what you used to do.”

(Al-A’raf 7:42-43)

How great Allaah’s Generosity is! He blesses them with guidance, allows them to remain steadfast upon it, then rewards them with Jannah! May Allaah make us among them. Aameen.

An appropriate reminder at this point would be of the hadeeth reported in Saheeh Muslim (Arabic Online) or Translation in Vol.4, p.1397, #6418:

Abdullah bin ‘Amr bin al-‘Aas – radiyallaahu anhu – said, that he heard Allah’s Messenger – sallallaahu alaihi wa sallaam – saying, “All the hearts of the offspring of Aadam are between two fingers of Ar-Rehman’s Fingers, as one heart. He turns it (in any direction) as He wills. Then Allah’s Messenger said, “O Allah! The Turner of the hearts, turn our heart towards Your obedience.

On the Day when Allâh will resurrect them all together (i.e. the Day of Resurrection) and inform them of what they did. Allâh has kept account of it, while they have forgotten it. And Allâh is Witness over all things.

“Whosoever does righteous good deed it is for (the benefit of) his ownself, and whosoever does evil, it is against his ownself, and your Lord is not at all unjust to (His) slaves.”

(Fussilat 41:46)

Ever thought about the salaah you pray “not-so-whole-heartedly“?

Who are you hurting by this except your own self?

Ibn Qayyim al-Jawziyyah – rahimahullaah – said:

Know, that verily there is no doubt that the salaah […] is the mercy of Allaah which He has bestowed (given as a gift of guidance) to His believing servants.  He guided them to it, and made them know (about) it, and granted it to them as a gift on the hands of His truthful and trustworthy messenger as a mercy for them, and by way of honouring them in order for them […] to (successfully) attain closeness to Him.  (He guided them to it) NOT because of His need for them (their worship), rather, it is a favour from Him, and grace (bestowed) upon them…” (1)

We worship Allaah ta’aalaa because He commanded us, and we “hear and obey”; however, He doesn’t need our worship…

WE do.

(1)  Asraar as-Salaah – wal Farq wal Muwaazanah bayna Thawqis-Salaati was-Samaa’ (أسرار الصلاة – والفرق والموازنة بين ذوق الصلاة والسماع) by Ibn Qayyim al-Jawziyyah, rahimahullaah.  Note:  The square brackets with dots indicate omission i.e. […], and the round brackets are EN to help clarify meaning.

Had We sent down this Qur’ân on a mountain, you would surely have seen it humbling itself and rending asunder by the fear of Allâh. Such are the parables which We put forward to mankind that they may reflect.

(Al-Hashr 59:21)
